Dawn At Moores Cove

from Water by Mark Brennan

/

about

In our final track, we stay with the ocean, listening to an incredible soundscape recorded one May whilst staying in a tiny camp near the shore.

Dawn at Moore’s Cove comes to us from the Northern Shores of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Two sounds from either end of Mother Natures song, the gentle Morning Chorus of early May and that of the pounding waves crashing into Moore’s Cove. The cove can be found just outside the Cape Breton Highlands National park, a rugged Northern Coastline who’s cliffs stretch upward towards moody Boreal Forests and Taiga. Just north of the cove is Gampo Abbey which is a Western Buddhist monastery, the location chosen because of its remoteness. You certainly get that feeling as you listen to the deep breathing of the ocean, the gentle song of the Song Sparrow.
